Public Invited to Explore Updated Municipal-Wide Land Use Planning Drafts

The District of Lunenburg has released updated second drafts of its Municipal‑Wide Land Use Planning documents. These updates reflect input from residents, along with direction from Council following an extensive feedback process.
The updated drafts will be presented to Council on March 10 at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Chambers at 10 Allée Champlain Drive, Cookville. All are welcome to attend in person or watch the livestream on our YouTube channel:

Quality of Life Survey Launches

Starting February 23, 2026, households across the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg will begin receiving invitation postcards for the Nova Scotia Quality of Life Survey. This province-wide initiative gathers information on how people are doing in their daily lives, including social and economic wellbeing.
The survey is conducted every few years and provides a meaningful snapshot of community wellbeing. Results help municipal governments better understand residents’ experiences and plan services, programs, and long-term priorities.
“Your voice matters,” says Mayor Elspeth McLean-Wile. “Completing the survey will provide Council with important information that will help in our decision-making.”

Proclamation - International Day for Persons with Disabilities

On December 2, 2025, Mayor McLean-Wile proclaimed that December 3, 2025, is recognized as International Day for Persons with Disabilities.
International Day for Persons with Disabilities promotes an understanding of disability issues and the importance of equal access for Nova Scotians with disabilities in all aspects of society.
