We offer: Backyard Games, Community Playboxes, Adaptive Equipment and Winter Equipment!
Procedures
- We offer 4-day loan periods, Tuesday-Friday or Friday-Tuesday.
- Loan requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- Equipment is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Pick-up/Drop-off time and location will be scheduled at the time of booking.
- You will be required to provide contact information upon booking.
- A refundable deposit may be required; you will be advised in advance.

Community Playboxes
Community Playboxes have been installed for seasonal use at the MARC, MARC Ballfields, River Ridge Common, Pine Grove Outdoor Park and MushaMush Beach Park.
These are filled with a collection of seasonal equipment for you to use, enjoy and return for other people to use.
Adaptive Equipment
Here is our adaptive equipment that is available to borrow:
- Hippocampe All-Terrain Wheelchair (beach balloons, wheels and ski attachments available)
- Aqua Flotation Belts (one of each size: S, M, L)
- Sensory (x1) and Slow Motion (x1) Soccer Balls
- Ringing Volleyballs (x1)
- Shooter Assistant Basketballs (x2)
- Bowling Ball Ramp (x1)

What's a Hippocampe?

The hippocampe offers individuals with disabilities accessibility to difficult terrains. Imagine exploring rocky mountain paths, sandy beaches, snowy trails, or floating over cool, calming waters securely and independently! It is ideal for use on your own or accompanied. Towed, pushed, or self-propelled, the hippocampe chair offers autonomy to its user. With the use of its push bar or traction kit, a person who is not able to propel themselves can be assisted by others.
Our Hippocampe is size medium, for individuals 4’7” - 5’9” (140cms - 175cms) high, and can be adapted for children between 30 - 48” (76cms - 122cms) high.
Important note: The folded dimensions of the Hippocampe for transportation are: (HxDxW): 15” x 49.5” x 27 (40cms x 126cms x 68cms)

Winter Equipment Loan Program
Embrace Winter And Experience The Great Outdoors By Snowshoeing Or Cross-country Skiing.
Don't have your own equipment? We've got you covered! We want to help make outdoor play and physical activity easy and accessible for all.
Our Winter Equipment Loan Program has the following equipment to borrow:
- Snowshoes (various sizes from child to adult)
- Cross-country skis, boots, and poles (various sizes for ages 8+)
- Nordic walking poles

A deposit may be required, and equipment can be loaned for up to 4 days at a time. Some restrictions apply, as available.
